Annual Events

Saint Paul Winter Carnival
Long known as the nation’s oldest winter festival, since 1886 the Saint Paul Winter Carnival provides indoor and outdoor fun.

Festival of Nations
The 4-day Festival of Nations that celebrates the culture of countless different nations has become the largest multi-cultural event in Minnesota.

MayDay Parade & Festival
Actually a two-part event attracting thousands of people celebrating the arrival of spring.

Grand Old Day
The first event of the summer, and the largest 1-day festival in the Midwest USA, Grand Old Day is recognized as one of the best Minnesota festivals for people of all ages and interests. 

Minneapolis Aquatennial
The Aquatennial is the official civic celebration of the City of Minneapolis, a ten-day festival held annually in July. 

Sommerfest Minneapolis
The Sommerfest Minneapolis music festival is offered by the Minnesota Orchestra, conducted by Osmo Vanska.

Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon
Nicknamed the "Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America", the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon attracts 300,000 fans and spectators in 10 cheering zones.

Galleria
A distinctive assortment of locally-owned boutiques and upscale national chains brings dedicated shoppers to the suburbs. 

Calhoun Square
This collection of funky, independent stores is an Uptown favorite.

Nicollet Mall
Featured prominently in the opening credits of \\"The Mary Tyler Moore Show,\\" this popular shopping district boasts public statuary, spacious sidewalks, and of course, a top-notch collection of stores and restaurants. 

Warehouse District
This area, once populated with empty industrial buildings and storefronts, has been rejuvenated in recent years and now offers some of the city's best dining, shopping, and entertainment.

St. Anthony District & Northeast Minneapolis
 Here, the old stone and brick structures, many bearing signage of tenants that occupied them more than 100 years ago, house dozens of neat little restaurants, bars, shops, and sights.
