Local Attractions
Stubb’s Bar-B-Q
Located on the eastern edge of downtown, Stubb’s is one of the best concert venues in town as well as an excellent barbecue joint. High-profile national acts usually play on the outdoor stage, which sometimes hosts as many as 2,000 fans.
Texas State Capitol
The pink-granite building is the centerpiece of downtown Austin, perched on a hill at 10th and Congress.
Paramount Theatre
The historic Paramount Theatre on Congress Avenue hosts red-carpet movie premieres, plays, live music, ballets and stand-up comedy.
ACL Live at the Moody Theater
Home of the long-running Austin City Limits PBS series, the Moody Theater is also the site of big-name concerts.
The Driskill Bar
Whether you’re interested in meeting film directors or cattle barons, just about anything is possible at the Driskill Bar. It’s a beautiful bar on the second floor of the historic Driskill Hotel.
Alamo Drafthouse - The Ritz
The Alamo’s downtown outpost is in a funky vintage theater.
Congress Avenue Bat Bridge
Austin's most famous flying mammals make an appearance nightly from March to October. Over a million bats fly out of the bridge just before sundown.
Downtown Farmers Market
On Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Republic Square Park at 498 West 4th Street is transformed into a lively farmers market.

The Domain
Anchored by Neiman Marcus, The Domain is one of the most unabashedly high-end shopping centers in Austin.
The Arboretum
Featuring many stores you can park directly in front of, The Arboretum is a well-designed shopping center with tree-lined parking lots.
Lakeline Mall
Located just northwest of Austin in Cedar Park, Lakeline Mall is go-to shopping destination for those living in Austin’s northern suburbs. With more than 150 stores, the mall has a wide range of upscale and budget-friendly shopping experiences.
Barton Creek Square Mall
Perched atop a large hill in southwest Austin, Barton Creek Square is anchored by Nordstrom.
Southpark Meadows
Located in deep south Austin, Southpark Meadows is one of Austin’s newest shopping centers. Boasting abundant parking and well-manicured landscaping, the center has more than 90 stores. An outdoor stage hosts live music daily against a backdrop of beautiful old oak trees.

Warehouse District
Sometimes referred to as “6th Street for grown-ups,” the Warehouse District is centered around 4th and Lavaca Street.
6th Street
The 6th Street entertainment is a must-do for first-time visitors. It’s a bustling area full of bars of every shape and size. Whether you’re interested in listening to live music, dancing or drinking, it’s hard to go wrong on 6th Street.
2nd Street Shopping District
The epicenter of the 2nd Street shopping area lies at the corner of 2nd and Lavaca.
Rainey Street
What started as a few old houses turned into bars has grown into a full-blown entertainment district on the southeastern edge of downtown. Perhaps the oddest venue, Container Bar is made out of recycled shipping containers stacked on top of each other.
