Experiential Marketing Makeovers: YSL & Google Glass

experiential marketing makeover

Wow. I’ll admit I’m not a huge fan of wearable tech (seeing hipsters strutting around NYC in the specs can be grating) but events like this could convert me. This is a case of a product beautifully integrating with a brand and giving the consumer an experience that not only has value but is very personalized and unique.

Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Beauté has partnered with Google glass to create hi tech makeovers for consumers at department stores in both the US and Europe. A makeup artist wearing Google glass will give consumers individualized makeovers and tutorials which will be filmed with their Google glass. Customers will receive an email later that day with the step-by-step video from the pro’s perspective and a list of suggested beauty products used in the tutorial, with direct links to buy.
